Our summer wasn't all fun, in June we had to put our sweet Charlie to rest. We had 10 good years with him. I remember the day we picked him up from a breeder in Minnesota and brought him home. We had him in his kennel in the back of the car and after about 5 miles of him crying, we pulled over and I held him the rest of the way home. The first day we left him home alone(with Max, our golden retriever) we had blocked off the basement for him in this huge area only for Jeremy to find him busted out and upstairs with half the house chewed up!
1st day home! May 25th, 2004
Silly puppy!
Summer of 2005, family photo before Carter joined us
He was always great with the kids!
Charlie and Case
In his younger years he LOVED he snow and could stay outside all day!
He liked to use the stuffed version of him as a pillow!
His 10th birthday.
It seems strange not to have a dog in the house! Jeremy and I grew up with dogs and we got Max when we started dating with Charlie to follow a couple of years later. Even with 3 kids, the house is quieter. We miss the barking at the doorbell! Jeremy is lonely during the day when he is working from home. The kids have been sad, Case keeps asking where Charlie is. He was a big part of our family and we miss him dearly! The jury is out on if another dog will join our family. We've agreed to re-visit the topic in the spring after wrestling season is over and we are actually home a little more! Carter's vote is for a cat (no way), Claire's vote is for a baby sister ( NO WAY!!) and Case wants a horse...hmmm
