6 months!

Our photo shoots are becoming a little more challenging! Our big little boy turned 6 months on the 10th. He continues to be a great baby! Here's what he's been up to:

1. 14 lbs 15 oz ( 17th percentile) 28 inches ( 92nd percentile)
2. Rolling all over the place, getting his knees under him and scooting himself toward toys.
3. Two bottom teeth have appeared!
4. LOVES being outside, going for walks!
5. Everything goes in his mouth except baby food/cereal! Being on OT, this obviously concerns me! Because of my persistence with this, he has now developed some anxiety over attempting food and starts to cry when he sees the bowl and spoon coming at him. Based on the advice of some of my fellow pediatric OT's, we are trying some feeding interventions to hopefully get over his hump!
6. Because he won't eat anything, I tried some supplemental formula and we quickly learned he has a very severe allergy to it! ARG! Guess he is trying to tell me I will remain his one and only food source for the time being!
7. He loves to snuggle with his soft blankie.
8. He loves his paci and is getting good at throwing it on the floor for the ever entertaining pick up game.
9. He continues to look exactly like Carter as a baby. It is a little freaky how similar they are!
10. He is a horrible napper but a great all night sleeper! I'll take it!

Happy 6th months little man!

Easter

How cute are these three? Don't you love  the reflection in the door of me taking the traditional Easter picture on the front step? This was the 4th attempt on Easter to get the picture taken. We were running late for church and didn't get it taken before, everyone was crying when we got home, we were running late to meet everyone for lunch, until finally after lunch we got it done! The kids hunted eggs at the crack of dawn and opened up a basket from the Easter bunny. We all put on our Sunday best, listened to an amazing service at Hope, and overfilled our bellies with nothing better than buffet from the Iowa Machine Shed with my parents, grandma and sister. Easter was a little bittersweet this year, as last Easter was the last time we saw my Grandpa Mehlmann.

Case's 1st Easter! I feel like a bad mom and didn't get him to see the Easter bunny like I did with the other two. Poor kid has 3rd child syndrome already! Hopefully he'll understand!
I am sure Carter will be humiliated by this picture one day of him in his skivvies. He was warned there would be photographs taken!
I always debate on whether or not to hide eggs inside or outside!
Eggs Galore!
Happy Easter

Spring break

Carter had spring break the last week of March and needless to say I was dreading it. I had visions of arguing, fighting, lots of crying and whining going on and many hours spent in time out! Jeremy and I were able to split the week up with our work schedules so it actually turned out pretty well! The weather was really nice all week so we took advantage of the warm weather.

Heading to the park. Claire pretty much wears her helmet anytime she is outside. I think I have the child brainwashed! She has been know to tell other kids in the neighborhood to wear their helmets. Atta girl! I am thinking Case should be the one with the helmet on if Claire is in charge of the stroller!
Just as we were getting back from a walk, the skies opened up and it down poured. Against my better motherly judgement, I let these two run wild in it and I think it was the best part of their week!

On Tuesday, we ventured out to the Science Center of Iowa. The kids favorite part was these huge tanks of bubbles! They also had fun building paper rockets, racing lego cars, watching a movie in the sky lab, and watching a "fire" works show.
We got to spend an evening at our favorite local hotel/waterpark thanks to my cousin Patty and her family visiting us from Minneapolis.
What's a vacation without yummy Coldstone ice cream?

My little chocoholic!

The kids rounded out the week with dad, going to a movie and Monkey Joes. I have to give them credit, I didn't have to put my referee skills to work and we had a great week!

Freeman boys (minus one) take on the best!

The weekend before Carter's state tournament we traveled to Kansas City for the Liberty Nationals. It is a huge tournament fielded with kids from all over the country. Although we knew this level of wrestling was out of our league, we couldn't past up the opportunity meeting up with the Michigan Freeman's for a full weekend of wrestling! It was so good to see our nephews and Al and Nancy. I hadn't seen them for nearly 2 years! The boys had a blast together and I think Jeremy and Al had a great time talking shop.

Carter and Nick
Looks like trouble!

Way to go champion Ben!
Ben meeting the great Nate Carr. Nate Carr was a former wrestler for Iowa State and team USA. He won a bronze medal in the 1988 Olympics. Our very own Al Freeman ( Ben's dad) was Nate's training partner for the Olympics! It was so cool Ben got to meet him!

Random cuteness

No narrative needed, the pictures say it all!
