PROUD SISTER

Time to brag! The first weekend in October my sister, Darcie, was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She was honored at the Homecoming banquet along with 4 other inductees. She was also recognized at an alumni BBQ, during halftime of the football game and at private reception for her, family, friends and teammates. She was selected to the hall of fame in her first year of eligibility ( must be out of school 10 years) and is only the third softball player to be inducted in the 30 year history of the hall of fame. She was a first team NCAA Division II All American in 1999 and a four time first team all conference infielder. She holds the school career records for single season (15) and career home runs (48) She was chosen the Omaha World Herald State Female Athlete of the Year in 1999 and was named to the All-Century team in 2009. Not only did she excel on the field, she graduated summa cum laude and was twice named to the Academic All American team. After she graduated she played with a USA Select Softball team the toured Europe. I was so glad I was able to spend the weekend honoring her and her amazing accomplishments! Our whole family is so proud of her!
