We have been partying hard lately! We have celebrated 3 birthday's, rejoiced in the rising of Jesus Christ, celebrated my "paid job", shown our new neighbors how to celebrate May Day, celebrated my "unpaid job" and celebrated with new friends and neighbors by hosting the monthly Bunco group.
This year I turned 39. The last year of my 30's. Not sure how I feel about this. This year I spent the weekend before my birthday relaxing with a girls get away weekend with my awesome friends Jeri and Dana. We ate and drank way too much, pampered ourselves at the spa and even took a NAP! I am totally bummed I didn't get a group picture! Thanks Dana for opening up your house for Jeri and I! You are the hostess with the mostess! Jeremy and the kids were so sweet, spoiling me with gifts and Jeremy whipped up my favorite dinner of his, chicken, spinach, tomato, artichoke pizza! YUM!!
Our beloved Charlie turned 10 on March 31st. He is really starting to show his age and turning into an old man. Sadly, I think this may be his last birthday. I hope I am wrong. He excitedly scarfed down a steak dinner in his honor.
Easter 2014: The traditional coloring of the eggs!
We started Easter Sunday off with the kids hunting eggs and squealing in delight of the sugary treats they found! Case was super funny to watch as he is SUPER competitive and kept trying to box the other two out to get to the eggs first. We went to an amazing service at church then met up with my parents, sister and grandma at Prairie Meadows for the Easter buffet. We started this tradition a few years ago, and let me tell you it is the way to go! No cooking, tons of great food and NO clean up! think I am still full from gorging myself!
The end of April brings Jeremy's birthday! All Claire could talk about was making daddy a birthday cake! I didn't have the heart to tell her he hates cake, so we put together a cake and he choked down a piece. The things we do for our kids! He was super excited to get a new electric toothbrush for his birthday though! Gotta get rid of that sugar somehow right?
Putting together May baskets!
Mother's Day!
Muffins for Mom's with Claire bear at Kid's Company. Once again I was spoiled rotten by this crew! I just love them to pieces! One of my favorite moments of the day was at dinner that night. We usually play these silly games, like, name as many fruits as you can, or name somewhere you want to go on vacation, etc. When someone can't think of anything, they are out of the game. Anyway, Carter pipes up at the table and says, "Let's all say what we love about mom tonight" Seriously brought tears to my eyes. For one, for my eldest son to think of this (we don't always see eye to eye these days)and secondly, the game went on for the entire dinner...no one ran out of things to say! I am such a lucky girl!
BUNCO! A couple of us started a Bunco group back in January and it has been so much fun! I look forward to this every month! It has been a great way to meet neighbors and make new friends! Love this fun group!
