2014 baseball season wrap up!

Baseball season has ended for the Cobras with a 2nd place finish in the silver bracket at the state tournament a couple of weekends ago. Overall, they finished 10th out of 54 teams playing in the tournament with an overall record of 22-16. The boys made a great run at the end of the season and I think we are all a little sad it is over. This is a great group of kids and parents! We feel like the Cobras are our second family during the spring and summer! The boys always showed good sportsmanship and really encouraged each other. They had a great group of coaches who made it fun for them, and never gave up on them when the chips were down at times.

Line Drive Super NIT champions! The kids played 5 games in one day to win the championship and these cool rings!

I had to throw a couple in here of this cute guy! He was as much a part of the team as anyone else! All the kids on our team were so good to play with him, throw him some wiffle balls, take him to the park for me, just plain entertain him at the games so we could watch the game. I think he was more upset the season was over than anyone! For days after the tournament, he'd ask, " We go to ball game tonight?"

Claire's turn!

Claire got her chance to get her glove dirty, and well, play in the dirt a little too! She played 5 tball games through the Waukee Parks and Rec Little Sluggers program. These games were a hoot to watch! The first game she didn't make an attempt to field ANY balls, just stood directly on the base and watched them roll by. SO, Jeremy gave her a challenge each game after that to see how many balls she could snatch up...well, it worked (my kids always love a fun challenge)! She could have definitely been in the running for the Golden Glove award! I was really proud of her, she kept her glove on ( on the right hand even), knew which way to run after she hit the ball and jacked a couple of hits to the outfield! She always hustled and had a great time!

Perfecting her bubble!

A little encouragement from brother!
